Birds of a feather...

There's one person in my life that knows me better than anyone else on the planet, knows what makes me tick, what makes me sad and what makes me laugh until my face hurts.  Most of you would think I would be referring to Brandon, yes, he's amazing, but he's not who I'm talking about.  My best friend/soul mate, walked into my life 16.5 years ago and I'm so blessed to know her.  She's my best friend, Cheri.  Many people aren't lucky enough to have a friendship like ours.  We know that, and that's why we cherish it so much!

I have been friends with Cheri since we were 12 years old, we met at a pool party in the 6th grade.  The story isn't that interesting, but let's just say we've hung out all the time since then!  We can go days, weeks, sometimes months without seeing each other and once we do we pick up right where we left off.  Never awkward, always comfortable!

To say we've been through a lot together, would be a complete understatement.  We've been there for each other for every horrible decision we've made and to cheer each other on in the great ones.  We've fought, we've cried but we've had some pretty incredible times together too.  Actually most of my favorite moments we're usually spent with Cheri!

At my housewarming party for my very first apartment at 18 years old.

We've also experienced great loss together. Cheri's mom passed a month before Jayden was born.  And when people wonder where Cheri gets her amazing heart from, it's because she was made of the same cloth as Mrs. Charlotte.  So, when I found out I was pregnant, there was no doubt in my mind who I wanted to be my sons God Mother.  Cheri and I went to church together growing up, she's the family I clung to for a Godly influence.  She was there for me when the woman I called "mom" growing up passed away.  She actually found out before I did, and didn't even call me to tell me.  She showed up at my doorstep with Reese's and shoulder to cry on.

She was actually one of the first people at the hospital when I went into labor.  She brought me gossip magazines, music and she would watch my contractions and make comments like, "Whoa, that must of hurt!".  She loves my son so much, she'd do absolutely anything for him, and he's so lucky to have her as his God Mother.  And he doesn't know it yet, but he will one day.

One of my birthday dinners, the age is irrelevant ;)

Recently, my best friend got married to the love of her life!  Cheri got married in Dauphin Island Alabama and to say her wedding was gorgeous isn't enough, there are no words!  I was her Maid of Honor and Jayden was one of her ring bearers.  Yes, I cried almost the whole day of the wedding.  But, if I'm being honest, I cried on her bachelorette night after she got all dolled up.  This is the day we have talked about for YEARS.  I remember sitting in her room and us talking about one day getting married, where we'd get married and how we'd be in each other's weddings.  So to see this day come, was extremely emotional.

Seriously, so cute!

Look at my beautiful friend, she was the world's most beautiful bride!

We call each other friends, but we know we're family.  She often says that my home is her happy place, the place she feels the most comfortable.  I love her so much, and am blessed to know her!  I just hope everyone has the chance to have a friend like her, once in their life.  Our friendship is absolutely priceless and my life is better for having her in it!
