Ten years apart and they both had fun! {Review}

My family and I had such a great time at the Renaissance Festival!  I have two boys, one that's 16 months old and another that's 11.5 years old so finding activities that entertain the both of them can be a bit of a challenge.  We have always heard of the Renaissance Festival and have taken our oldest before but weren't sure if there was much for our youngest.  We were pleasantly surprised.

Our youngest loved the free toddler activities like the swan swing.

Both boys were amazed by the performers that walked around and stayed in character the whole time.  And were totally mesmerized by the jousting, especially by the fake blood.

I feel like there's always something new to discover.  We had a couple firsts and we've been here before. This was our first time visiting the petting zoo and the camel rides, and both were a huge hit with both kids.

There's fun for the adults too!  My favorite part is the food.  I always have to get fried macaroni on a stick and beef stew in a bread bowl.  I also treated myself to a pumpkin beer right before the kids hopped on the camel!  A few tips for first timers, pack snacks for the kids and water bottles for everyone.  It is quite pricey for food and drinks once you're in the fairgrounds and that tip alone will save you $20 or more!  Only port a jons are on fair grounds, I didn't see a place to change babies diapers but I may have missed it.  We ended up lowering his stroller so it went flat enough to change while he was in it.  Parking is free but be ready to walk unless you get there right when they open or a couple hours before they close.

All in all this is a fun event for the whole family.  We had a great time together and can't wait until next year when we can go again!
