Our oldest is 15!
Happy Birthday Jay!
Do you ever just look at your kids? Just sit back and watch the person they’re becoming? I find myself doing that more than not these days. Knowing our days are numbered. This kid. I’m so stinking lucky to know him and humbled to call him mine. He’s all the things you don’t necessarily hear people brag about often enough. He goes his own path, he’s never been a follower of anyone. He’d rather be alone than feel the need to copy someone to fit in. He stands up for himself without making other people feel small. He spends hours on the phone listening to his friends when they need a friend to talk to. He has a heart that seeks out to help people and I hope that never changes. He has a passion for music, I could listen to him talk about the music he loves and breakdowns of why, all day. And don’t get me started on his piano skills, I literally cry every time I sit and listen to him play. Never a lesson in his life, he can’t even read music and can pick up a tune and be playing it that night if you ask. He’s incredible.
I don’t know what we did right or what we did wrong to deserve him, but we thank God for him every chance we get.
